If you are a fan of Japanese cosmetics, you might have had the experience of checking the official website of a Japanese beauty brand for information on a particular product (probably something you consider purchasing) only to find that the product has been quietly discontinued and is no longer listed on the website. (I’ve certainly had that experience!)
Thankfully, several websites of Japanese beauty companies and brands now feature pages that list items that have just been or will soon be discontinued. Here are some that I have come across:
Specifically, the Shiseido, Kanebo and Kao pages list items that are no longer or will no longer be produced, and the SUQQU and RMK pages list items that are no longer or will no longer be available.
I presume that the items listed on the Shiseido, Kanebo and Kao pages may remain available for a while after they are no longer produced. The information on the SUQQU and RMK pages is on product availability at the brands’ on-line stores, and the items that have been discontinued on-line may still be available at the department store counters for a while.
Note that the items listed on the Kao page do not include those from Sofina or Est.
These pages are about product availability in Japan. The availability of the listed items may vary in other countries.
For me, the information on these pages is very useful as it reminds me to make decisions on whether to purchase products that I have been considering trying.
These pages are definitely worth bookmarking. Alternatively, you can bookmark this post. I will update this post with more links if I come across others.
