I reviewed Chicca‘s Flush Blush Powder in 04 Sweet Pink in 2015 and Mesmeric Lipstick in 08 Rose Glacé in 2016. Today, I will be sharing my thoughts on Mesmeric Gloss On in 05 Moon Pink.

Kanebo Chicca Mesmeric Gloss On in 05 Moon Pink (カネボウ キッカ メスメリック グロスオン 05 ムーンピンク, ¥2800) was released in summer 2014. It is a lightly-to-moderately (towards lightly) pigmented cool-toned pink with fuchsia-toned and blue-toned shimmer. It feels emollient on the lips, and the staying power of the color and the finish is good.

It imparts quite a glossy shine on the lips with just one layer. With additional layers, the finish becomes even glossier, the appearance of lip lines becomes even more diffused, and the lips look even fuller and juicier. The color doesn’t really intensify with additional layers.

The shimmer looks quite dense in the container but it looks just right on the lips. It doesn’t look sparse, frosty, or overly shimmery, and it creates additional dimension for the lips. The blue-toned shimmer, which of course I love, works well with the fuchsia-toned shimmer. The contrast also helps to create additional dimension for the lips.

Among the three Chicca items I have tried, this is my favorite. Also, this is now among my favorite lip glosses. It creates a natural look, and I love its cool-toned color, juicy translucency, glossy finish, combination of fuchsia-toned and blue-toned shimmer, and the dimensional look. I think I would perhaps love it even more if it were just a tiny bit more pigmented, but overall this is a gorgeous product.

I don’t usually use liquid eyeshadows, but I like quite a few shades (GR-5, PU-6, GD-7 and BR-9) from the Liquid Eye Color WP range from Fasio’s spring 2017 makeup collection. The product packaging appeals to me as well.

5th: Clé de Peau

Clé de Peau’s spring 2017 Serene Beauty makeup collection features the new Ombres Couleurs Duo. Most of the six variations feature tone-on-tone color combinations, and they look low-key and elegant. 105 (above), with a cream beige and a dark navy blue, is perhaps the most striking variation from the range.

4th: KANEBO

For me, the highlights of KANEBO’s spring 2017 makeup collection are the two new variations of Selection Colors Eyeshadow. I like the combination of neutrals and blues in 04 (above), but I marginally prefer the warm neutrals in 05 (below).

I prefer the two variations of Variant Brosse (Cheeks) from fall 2016, but 03 (below) from spring 2017 looks lovely as well.

Another highlight of the collection for me is the eye-catching Dramatic Mood Eyes in BL727, which reflects the makeup trend of spring 2017.

It is always great to see a colorful makeup collection from Lunasol, and its spring 2017 makeup collection certainly features a rainbow of colors. The Colorful Sky Eyes palettes (above) include softer hues, while Sheer Aqua Stick Eyes, Shiny Pencil Eyeliner and Aqua Coloring Mascara showcase more saturated shades.

Paul & Joe is celebrating its beauty line’s 15th anniversary this year, and its spring 2017 Les Petits Noms d’Amour makeup collection is definitely an exciting collection. Cat motifs, not surprisingly, take center stage, but I prefer the prints of the three Compacts and the three Lipstick Cases CS. I am also pleased to add Pearl Foundation Primer in 002 Sweet Bonbon to my collection.

Kanebo Coffret d’Or released Beauty Aura Eyes towards the end of 2016, and today I will be bringing you my review of 01 Yellow Brown.

Kanebo Coffret d’Or Beauty Aura Eyes in 01 Yellow Brown (カネボウ コフレドール ビューティオーラアイズ 01 イエローブラウン/ 佳麗寶 金炫光燦 光透色眼影盒 01 黃棕, ¥3500) was released in Japan for the holiday 2016 season. (It is a regular variation and not a limited edition.) The four shades in this palette are:

• cream white, lightly pigmented, with pearly shimmer
• medium-depth bronze-toned brown, moderately pigmented, with pearly shimmer
• dark brown, moderately-to-intensely pigmented, with a pearly glow
• off-white yellow, mostly sparkles with little pigment, softly sparkly

All the four shades in this palette have multi-hued light-reflective particles. They are all very easy to apply and blend, and they all have a very good staying power.

The cream white works well as a base. It is fairly shimmery as a base shade but it is not overly so for me. The medium-depth bronze-toned brown creates a dimensional look and works well as a shadowing shade. It turns slightly more cool-toned overtime but it does not turn gray or ashy on me. The dark brown works competently as an eyelining shade. As the shade is not intensely pigmented, layering is needed for stronger or more defined looks.

The off-white yellow is designed to be used as a top-up shade on the middle parts of the upper eyelids. I use it quite light-handedly, and it creates additional dimension for the eyes without looking too sparkly. The soft veil of sparkles looks very lovely. There is virtually no fallout during the application or over the course of wear.

Compared with the golden brown in Coffret d’Or’s Beauty Face Shadow in 02 Cream Brown, the bronze-toned brown in this palette is slightly darker, slightly cooler and noticeably less shimmery.

Overall, I do like this palette. All the four shades in this palette are very wearable and easy to apply, and no shade is so shimmery or sparkly that I would want to skip it. I particularly like how the off-white yellow creates a glimmery and almost-wet finish and how it adds extra dimension to the eyes. If the bronze-toned brown maintained its warmth over the course of wear, this palette would probably be among my favorite neutral-toned eyeshadow palettes.

In July, I reviewed Kanebo Coffret d’Or‘s Beauty Aura Eyes in 01 Yellow Brown, and today I will be sharing my thoughts on 03 Khaki.

Kanebo Coffret d’Or Beauty Aura Eyes in 03 Khaki (カネボウ コフレドール ビューティオーラアイズ 01 カーキ / 佳麗寶 金炫光燦 光透色眼影盒 03 軍綠, ¥3500) was released in Japan for the holiday 2016 season. (It is a regular variation and not a limited edition.) The four shades in this palette are:

• cream white, lightly pigmented, with high-toned pearly shimmer
• khaki gold, moderately pigmented, with pearly shimmer
• deep forest green with an olive tone, moderately-to-intensely pigmented, with a pearly glow
• off-white pink beige, mostly sparkles with little pigment, softly sparkly

All the four shades in this palette have multi-hued light-reflective particles. They are all very easy to apply and blend, and they all have a very good staying power.

The cream white works well as a base. It is fairly shimmery as a base shade but it is not overly so for me. (It can look quite shimmery with a heavy-handed application.)

The khaki gold works very well for me as a shadowing shade. The depth of the shade is just right for me, and the beautiful shimmer adds dimension to the eyes. Also, the yellow nuance of the shade suits me well. (The shade doesn’t go towards orange or red on the warm side and it doesn’t go towards taupe or gray on the cool side.)

The deep forest green works competently as an eyelining shade. The application of the shade is efficient with an eyelining brush, but it takes more time to layer the shade to create the same intensity with the sponge applicator included in the palette. The shade turns warmer (to a deep olive green) over the course of wear.

The off-white pink beige is designed to be used as a sparkle top-coat on the middle parts of the upper eyelids, and it works just like the off-white yellow in 01 Yellow Brown. It adds a beautiful veil of sparkles and additional dimension to the eyes.

I do like 01 Yellow Brown but I like 03 Khaki even more. The main reason is that I prefer the khaki gold in 03 to the bronze-toned brown in 01. The khaki gold creates a bright and fresh look while adding depth and dimension to the eyes. The bronze-toned brown would probably create a similar look if it were more bronze-toned and less brownish.

Lunasol’s fall 2017 Early Autumn Purification makeup collection features many soft and understated colors. My highlights are Shine Fall Eyes (above) in 01 (neutral-toned) and 03 (purple-toned).

9th: Kate

Kate’s fall 2017 makeup collection has quite a few items that caught my attention. Even though the new Brown Shade Eyes N range (above) is the centerpiece of the collection, I am interested in 3D Contrasting Cheeks in RS-1, Color Highvision Rouge in PK-1 and CC Lip Oil in 02.

8th: Chanel

My favorite item from Chanel’s fall 2017 Travel Diary makeup collection by far is Les 4 Ombres in 288 Road Movie. The cool-toned forest green in the palette is intense and full of impact while the warm-toned beige brown is a very wearable shade for me.

7th: Visée Avant

Visée Avant’s fall 2017 makeup collection features ten new shades of Single Eye Color. They include a few fairly vibrant shades, and I am particularly drawn to 025 (above) and 026 (below).
